No one won in January 7 election, not even AL

‘Rashtrachinta’ on Saturday termed the 12th Parliamentary National Election a one-sided one, and speakers said that no one won the national January 7 polls. Speakers of the discussion meeting commented that no one won the January 7 election.
The keynote speakers claimed that the Awami League did not win the January 7 elections, even though the ruling party has brought itself to the brink of destruction through this election.
A roundtable discussion on “January 7 Elections: Impact and Reaction “arranged by the ‘Rashtrachinta was held at the National Press Club in the capital on Saturday.
The discussion was presided over by Chittagong University teacher R. Razi and moderated by legal researcher Lokman Bin Nur.
Writer Rakhal Raha, Central Coordinator of United Lawyers’ Front Syed Mamun Mahbub, Fiction Writer Mahbub Morshed, BRAC University teacher Saimum Reza Piyas, Jagannath University teacher Nasir Uddin Ahmed, Journalist Salim Khan, Chittagong University teacher Mosreka Aditi Haque, State Reform Movement Executive Committee Member Faridul Haque, Imran Emon, Hasibuddin Hossain, Former Additional Secretary Golam Shafiq, and others were present at the discussion.
Advocate Syed Mamun Mahbub said, ‘The national conference of Baksal was held on January 7, and it was taboo that the left alliance party would not tie with BNP’. ‘Lately, this taboo is vanishing to some extent. There is no chance to ensure a fair election under Sheikh Hasina. The existence of Bangladesh is under threat today. We are already seeing various forms of instability at the border’, he said.
Mahbub Morshed said, “It is not true that we have finished everything; we’ve only just begun. ‘This is the first-time people have started raising their voices to uphold 1democracy in Bangladesh’, he said. All the opposition parties, including Rashtrachinta, and the Democracy Forum should work together to ensure democracy.
Writer Rakhal Raha said, People boycotted this dummy election, but fascism cannot be defeated by a dummy movement’.
Reza Piyas claimed that we have to take maximum advantage of the competition among global superpowers. This requires national unity, but we are divided in many ways.
Moshereka Aditi Haque said that ‘political parties need to understand the reasons why the people did not respond to the movement of the opposition political parties’.
