Mustard threshing machine relieves Bhangura farmers

Mustard threshing machine is now a popular piece of equipment among the farmers of Bhangura upazila of Pabna. In the past, the farmers had to go through a lot of trouble to pick up the mustard from the field traditionally, and plant the boro there. At present, farmers get relief in mustard and boro plantations as threshing machines are provided as modern technology under the auspices of the agriculture department.
As most of the areas of the upazila are lowland, the flood water is delayed from the land. On the other hand, water enters the agricultural fields here again at the beginning of the flood. Due to this, if mustard production is delayed, the boro plantation is at risk. The use of threshing mills in the area has made it easy to produce mustard at home in a short time. As it requires less manpower, the cost is also saved. Farmers are very happy for that.
Abdur Razzak, farmer of Pukurpar village of Khanmarich union of the upazila, said, “I have cultivated mustard on 20 bighas of land. Boro rice seedlings should be planted again in those lands within the next seven days. If there is a delay, the ripe paddy of the land is submerged in the flood water.
