BGMEA for branding Bangladesh to propel country forward

Faruque Hassan, President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), underscored the need for branding Bangladesh for attracting investments and solidify the country’s position on the global stage.
Speaking at a business seminar, organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Faruque Hassan also stressed the need for nation branding to propel the country forward in its pursuit of further growth.
Ahasanul Islam (Titu) MP, State Minister for Commerce; Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Senior Secretary of the Commerce Ministry; A. H. M. Ahsan, Vice Chairman of EPB; and Abdul Muktadir, Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceuticals Industries, also addressed the seminar titled “Branding Bangladesh” held at the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Dhaka on Tuesday.
In his speech, Faruque said Bangladesh has proudly secured its position as the second-largest apparel exporting country globally, with garments from the country reaching over 160 countries, said a press release.
He emphasized the need for strengthening this position through effective nation branding, stating that it is time for Bangladesh to be recognized not just as a manufacturer but as a brand of its own.
