Despite Sanjida Akhter of Bangladesh scored, East Bengal Club lost to Kickstart Football Club (FC) by 3-1 goals in their match of the Indian Women’s League at Kolkata, the former capital city of India on Monday.
Kickstart led the first half 2-0.
Sanjida Akhter played for East Bengal Club, while experienced booter of Bangladesh Sabina Khatun played for Kickstart Football Club.
Aruna of Kickstart Football Club put her team ahead by a header using a corner kick in the first minute of the play.
Kickstart Football Club doubled the margin in the 31st minute of the game.
After the lemon-break, Sanjida Akhter of East Bengal Club reduced the margin by a spectacular forceful 40-yarder free-kick in the 47th minute of the match. The commentators highly praised Sanjida for the eye-catching free-kick.
Karishma of Kickstart FC made it 3-1 in 55th minute of the match.
Though Sabina Khatun failed to score but she created some notable moves. She also produced some opportunities but her teammates failed to convert those.
Kickstart Football Club took the third position in the points table bagging 17 points from eight matches, while East Bengal Club took the sixth spot collecting four points from as many matches.
Odisha Football Club led the points table gaining 19 points from seven matches.
After the ending of the match between Kickstart Football Club and East Bengal Club, Sabina Khatun and Sanjida Akhter exchanged their views.
