School-level winter sports contest ends

Winter sports competition at district level was held in Bogura with much enthusiasm. Students of more than 40 schools, madrasas of the district participated in the sports competition. The students took part in cricket, volleyball, badminton, long jump, high jump, running, javelin, shot put, discus and cycling, girls’ roping competitions.
The three students of Aucharpara High School of Sariakandi Upazila won the first and second place in the district, they will play in the divisional stage today Thursday in Rajshahi.
It is known that the 10th grade student of Aucharpara High School, Sajib Mia, stood first in the district level in the long run, the 10th grade student Johnny Islam is the 2nd in the 1500 meter race and the 9th grade student Mamun Mia secured 2nd in the 800m race.
Physical education teacher of Aucharpara High School Ujjal Hossain said, “It is necessary to do sports along with studies. If children play sports, their bodies are in good shape.”
Headmaster of the school Md Shahjahan Mia said that they ensure all the necessary facilities for sports in addition to studies.
