Father-son hanging bodies found in Kushtia

Police have recovered the hanging bodies of a father and his 7-year-old son from a rented house in Mangalbaria area of Kushtia city.
Kushtia Model Police Station recovered their bodies on Saturday evening. Both were hanging side by side on separate ropes. No one was present home at the time.
The police believe that the father may have committed suicide after killing his son. Two bodies were recovered and sent to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for post-mortem. Senior police officers have already visited the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Rezaul Karim alias Mudhu (38) son of Bishnupad Roy and his minor son Mogdha, 7. They were inhabitant of Alpha intersection area of the city.
After converting the religion eight years ago, he married Shefali Khatun of Gobindpur village of Poradah union of Mirpur upazila.
Before his conversion, his name was Madhusudan Roy. Rezaul had a small jewelery shop in Mangalbaria area.
According to police and family sources, they were staying at the house at Alfa intersection for several days as the wife was sick.
On the day around 12pm, Rezaul left the house with his son Mogdha. He told his wife that he would enroll his son in a local primary school.
After a long time passed but he did not return with his son, mother Shefali went to their rented house. Seeing the door of the house closed from the inner site, she was calling from the outside.
Then, not getting a response, she saw the husband and children hanging on the rope through the small hole in the window.
Neighbors rushed to her screams. Later, police recovered the body with the help of local people.
