Dinajpur, Panchagarh shivering in country’s lowest temperatures
UNB :
The northern districts of Dinajpur and Panchagarh have been shivering with severe cold as the country’s lowest 5.3 and 5.5 degree Celsius temperatures, respectively, were recorded in the districts on Sunday morning, significantly disrupting daily life.
As per the government’s previous directive, all primary and secondary-level schools and madrasas have remained closed due to the bone-chilling cold.
Most people of the northern districts have been staying indoors, and vehicles were seen running with headlights on the streets due to poor visibility.
Low-income people were seen burning straws at various intersections and tea shops in both districts.
Dianjpur Meteorological Office’s official Asaduzzaman Babu said they recorded a 5.3 degree Celsius temperature at 9 am while it was 5.5 degree Celsius at 6 am.
