Bangabandhu’s Homecoming Day observed in Bagerhat

The historic Homecoming Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Shaikh Mujibor Rahman was observed in Bagerhat district town and it’s all the nine Upazilas in a befitting manner on Tuesday.
Marking the day, Bagerhat district unit of Bangladesh Awami League and its all the front organizations chalked out elaborate programmes earlier to celebrate the day in a befitting manner.
The programme included hoisting of national and party flags atop the party offices, placing of floral wreaths at the portraits of Bangabandhu and holding Doa Mahfil seeking salvation of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and his family-members. A discussion meeting on the importance of the day was also held in the district Awami League Office at Rail Road with Adv. Hemayt Bhuiya Hemayet Uddin, General Secretary of the district Awami League in the chair. Sardar Selim Ahmed, Farida Aktar Banu Luchi, Shaikh Bashirul Alam, Adv. Ssita Rani Debnath Sardar Fakre Alam Saheb, AL leaders A K Azad Firoj, Ahad Uddin Haidar, Sadia Afroz, Tania Khatun, Rizia Pareveen, Woman Vice-chairman of Bagerhat Sadar Upazila Parishad addressed the meeting among others.
