The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket is knocking at the door.
The 10th edition of gala cricket competition will start on January 19.
BPL Cricket, the most prestigious cricket competition will be held at the different venues across the country.
Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital city, Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in the port city of the country and Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet will stage the matches of the BPL Cricket.
The gala extravaganza will come to an end on March 1.
Most of the local cricketers have been taking part in their practice session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in the capital’s Mirpur.
After taking the oath as a Member of Parliament, Shakib Al Hasan took part at the practice session at the SBNCS on Wednesday.
Right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed was out of the field due to injury for a long time.
Taskin did bowling in the net with full rhythm.
Tamim Iqbal, who could not take part in the ICC World Cup 2023, which concluded recently, returned to practice.
But he got injury in his finger, while he was playing a delivery of Taskin Ahmed in the net on Tuesday.
Tamim Iqbal returned to his practice session yesterday.
It may be mentioned that Shakib Al Hasan could not compete in the New Zealand ODI series and T20I series due to injury in his finger.
The left-arm all-rounder said, ” I have started my practice. It will take time to become okay for some time.
The development is going well.”
He said, ” Our target is to be the champions in the upcoming BPL Cricket. We are balanced side.
Defending Champions Comilla Victorians, Chattogram Challengers and Fortune Barishal will start their full-fledged practice session soon.
