Ishwardi’s Amjad builds elevator using own technology

No higher degree from BUET or had no opportunity of any engineering university education. Amjad Hossain of Ishwardi built an elevator with his own invented technology only by his talent.
Amjad Hussain’s elevator automatically switches to IPS when there is no power.
He is an electrical technician by profession.
He experimentally built an elevator to climb his three-story building.
Amjad Hossain is the son of deceased Ahmed Ali of Ruppur village of Pakshi Union of Ishwardi.
While passing in front of the Dakbungalow in the municipal city of Ishwardi, pedestrians were surprised to see Amjad Hossain’s lift.
Amjad Hossain (63) said I am an electricity technician by profession.
I have been working for 40 years with two years electrical training from Pabna Vocational Institute.
We are making various electrical items including IPS, charger light, electric motor, battery charger, refrigerator and voltage stabilizer.
Earlier I also did TV and fan repair work. Three years ago, we built a three-storey building for the sale of electrical goods on a century of land in front of the postal bungalow in the city. There are stairs behind the landing on the second and third floors.
It is difficult for customers to reach the second and third floors by stairs.
Also, there is difficulty in lifting and lowering the goods of the shop.
To eliminate this problem, I planned to make an elevator myself. In the beginning it was not so easy.
After thinking for about three months, we made a control box for the elevator, a gear box with a weight capacity of one ton, an IPS of one kilowatt, a motor of one horse.
Then we started making elevators with steel wire, metal structure and replica gas for the cabin. After three months of efforts, we built an elevator to go up and down the third floor in front of the shop.
This commercial building will be a four storey building.
I have built an elevator to go up to the fourth floor. Now it is moving to the second and third floors experimentally.
He said that he will go to the second floor if he presses the switch in the elevator.
If you don’t need to go down there, you can press another switch to go up to the third floor.
Similarly, you have to go down from the third floor again.
No more than three people can travel in this lift at the same time.
Goods weighing one ton can be lifted and lowered.
If there is no electricity, a generator is needed to run the elevator.
But my A lift can be run with IPS. All the electrical components used in making the elevator are made by me.
About 3 to 5 lakh taka is spent to make controls used in elevators.
I made it very cheaply.
An elevator in a four-story building costs at least Tk 15 lakh. I spent only two lakh taka there.
Amjad Hossain also said, I am making an elevator for my own use and running it experimentally.
It is safe and energy efficient.
I am now thinking about how to make it more modern.
It is better to consult expert electrical engineers to improve this lift.
If the government gives permission for the commercial manufacture of this lift, which is built for use in 3 to 4-storey buildings at a low cost, then it can be used at a safe and affordable price.
