Shoriful successful bowler in 2023

Left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam of Bangladesh was the most successful bowler among the Bangladesh bowlers in 2023.

Shoriful captured six wickets with an average of 9.83 in the three-match T20I series against New Zealand, which concluded recently.

Shoriful was adjudged the Player of the Series. Shoriful for the first time achieved this kind of success at the abroad in his career in the international format.

Shoriful earned the attraction for his eye-catching performance round the last year.

He captured 52 wickets in all three formats (Test, ODI, T20I). He was the highest wickettaker among the Bangladesh bowlers in 2023.

From the very beginning of last year, he could not get chance in the Bangladesh XI. He was not included in the three-match ODI series against England at home. He was sidelined in the two matches against Afghanistan.

Bangladesh played 26 ODI matches in 2023, while Shoriful got chance to play in 19 ODI matches.

Shoriful captured 32 wickets with an average of 24.87. He was included top ten bowlers of the ODI bowlers.

Chinaman bowler of India Kuldeep Yadav took the top spot claiming 49 wickets playing 30 matches.

Pacer Mohammed Siraj of India took the second position capturing 44 wickets playing 25 matches.

Pacer Mohammed Shami of India took the third spot grabbing 44 wickets playing 19 matches.

Right-arm spinner of Nepal Sandeep Lamichhane took the fourth position grabbing 43 wickets playing 21 matches.

Left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi of Pakistan took the fifth position bagging 42 wickets playing 21 matches. Pacer Haris Rauf of Pakistan took the sixth position capturing 40 wickets playing 22 games.

Leg-spinner Adam Zampa of Australia took the seventh position bagging 38 wickets playing 20 matches.

Right-arm spinner Maheesh Theekshana took the eighth spot capturing 37 wickets playing 23 matches.

Pacer Marco Jansen of South Africa took the ninth position claiming 33 wickets playing 20 games.

Shoriful Islam of Bangladesh took the tenth position bagging 32 wickets playing 19 matches.

Shoriful Islam also showed a gimmick performance in the Test cricket among the Bangladesh bowlers. Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam took the top spot capturing 26 wickets from four Test matches, while spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz took the third position bagging 13 wickets from four matches. Shoriful Islam took the fourth spot capturing 12 wickets playing four matches.

Bangladesh played 10 T20Is against their different opponents.

Pacer Taskin Ahmed took the top position bagging 16 wickets playing eight matches.

Left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan took the second position with 12 wickets playing eight matches.

Shoriful Islam took the third spot capturing eight wickets from five matches.
