Nat’l Expat Day celebrated in Rangpur

National Expatriates Day was celebrated on Saturday in Rangpur with showing respect and love for expatriates. On the occasion, a colorful rally was organized by Rangpur District Administration, Rangpur Technical Training Center (TTC), District Employment and Man Power Office, Expatriate Welfare Bank and Welfare Center Rangpur.
Organized by the Rangpur district administration, Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Md. Mohammad Mobashwer Hasan, Superintendent of Police Md. Ferdous Ali Chowdhury, Additional District Commissioner (General) AWM Raihan Shah took part in the rally. TTC Principal Md. Nazmul Haque, District Employment and Manpower Office Assistant Director Amena Parveen, Manager of Pravasi Kalyan Bank Md. Mahfuzur Rahman and Assistant Director of Welfare Center Rangpur Md. Ataur Rahman also attended the rally. A discussion meeting and prize distribution ceremony was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner after the rally.
In the prize distribution ceremony, the representatives of families of expatriate workers who sent the highest remittances were awarded crests, scholarship checks were given to meritorious children and Islami Bank managers were awarded crests as the bank that collected the highest remittances.
In the afternoon, a job fair was held at Rangpur TTC on Expatriate Day through various employers and recruiting agencies. 278 (two hundred and seventy eight) people were given immediate employment in the fair.
