Ansar-VDP deployed at four Bhangura railway stations

At least 25 Ansar and VDP members have been deployed to guard level crossings and rail bridges to prevent sabotages and vandalism at four railway stations in Bhangura upazila of Pabna on the Isharadi-Dhaka route. Upazila Ansar and VDP official Momtaz Mahol confirmed this information on Wednesday afternoon.
Ansar and Village Defense Force Rajshahi Range members are working to guard the railway line due to increasing attacks on trains due to BNP’s Hartal blockade.
Five APC and 20 Ansar VDP members are on duty at five important points including four railway stations Bhangura, Baralbridge, Saratnagar and Dilpasar in Bhangura upazila. They will assist law enforcement agencies in preventing rail vandalism.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Arafat Hossain said, guarding the railway line has been done with the utmost importance to prevent any kind of vandalism and ensure the passenger service of the railway and the safety of life and property.
