We condemn sabotage, seek judicial enquiry: BNP
Staff Reporter :
The main opposition party-BNP- on Tuesday termed the incident of setting fire to the Dhaka-bound Mohanganj Express train a planned act of sabotage by a certain quarter and demanded an immediate impartial judicial inquiry into the matter.
In a statement, BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said this kind of heinous and atrocious crime is only possible with the help of anti-people forces.
“Those are undoubtedly inhuman who set fire to a train at Tejgaon in Dhaka and took the lives of four passengers. It’s not possible without the involvement of special quarters,” Rizvi said.
He said there is a deep suspicion among the public whether this incident was carried out as a ploy to divert the people’s attention away from the ongoing democratic movement led by the BNP.
“Such saboteurs are the enemies of humanity.
I’m deeply concerned over this barbaric and painful incident and I strongly condemn it. We demand an impartial judicial probe into the incident,” the BNP leader said.
Rizvi strongly demanded the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the miscreants involved in the train fire incident.
He also prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls of train fire victims and quick recovery of the injured passengers.
At least four people including a child were killed as miscreants set fire to the Dhaka-bound Mohanganj Express train in the capital’s Tejgaon Railway station area early Tuesday.
Three carriages of the train were set on fire around 5:04 am and the firefighters brought the blaze under control around 6:45 am.
