Victory Day observed in dists

Victory Day was celebrated in different districts on Saturday with great enthusiasm and a renewed pledge to build the country as “Sonar Bangla” as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Different socio-cultural and political organizations including Awami League and educational institutions took different programmes highlighting significance of the day.
Baraigram Correspondent: The Great Victory Day was celebrated in Baraigram of Natore with due dignity through various programmes. At sunrise on Saturday, the day’s program began with tapodhvani 31 times, offering floral wreaths to Sritisoudha and Bangabandhu’s Mural at the Upazila Parishad premises. Then a parade and display of students of various educational institutions and distribution of awards were held at the Bonpara Model High School grounds. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Abu Rasel presided over the discussion meeting attended by Upazila Chairman Md. Ataur Rahman, Bonpara Municipal Mayor KM Zakir Hossain, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Borhan Uddin Mithu, Upazila A-League President Abdul Quddus Miaji, General Secretary Adv. Mizanur Rahman, OC Shafiul Azam and others. Apart from this, family members of brave freedom fighters and martyred freedom fighters were formally welcomed at the Upazila Parishad square.
Rangpur Correspondent: Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md. was present as the chief guest in the special parade and display ceremony organized by the district administration at Rangpur Sheikh Russell Stadium marking 53rd Victory Day. Habibur Rahman. Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mobaswer Hasan, Rangpur Range DIG Abdul Baten, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Moniruzzaman, District Police Superintendent Md. Ferdous Ali Chowdhury and others.
Madukhali Correspondent: The program of the day started in Madukhali with 31-gun blasts on Saturday. General Secretary of Upazila Awami League hoisted the national and party flags in the premises of the Akhchashi Kalyan Sanstha building on the Dhaka-Khulna highway at 8:30 a.m. Upazila leaders of Awami League under the leadership of Rezaul Haque Baku.
Sylhet Bureau: On Great Victory Day, 10 patients underwent free ear, nose and throat surgery under the initiative of NJL ENT Center and NJL Foundation.
In an event organized on this occasion at NJL Center in Kazalshahs city at 4 pm on Saturday, December 16, Dr. Nurul Huda Nayeem, Head of ENT Department of Osmani Hospital, Dr. Nurul Huda Nayeem, the eminent ENT surgeon of the country, expressed his determination to continue the medical care for the helpless patients. He said, ‘NJL Foundation has been established to work for the welfare of helpless people. So far, in the last 12 years, more than 500 poor patients have undergone various nose-ear-throat operations free of charge.
