BNP terms rail tracks cutting in Gazipur an act of sabotage

The main opposition party-BNP will hold a colorful victory rally on December 16 in Dhaka.
The party’s Vice-Chairman Nitai Roy Chowdhury told it journalists after submitting a letter in this regard to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) officials on Wednesday.
“We have submitted a letter informing that the BNP will hold a rally in the capital on December 16 on the occasion of the National Victory Day,” Nitai Roy said.
The rally will begin from Nayapaltan BNP central office at 1:00 pm and end at Moghbazar after rallying Mouchak and Malibagh areas.
He said that a team constising Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum leader Advocate Mahbubur Rahman, went to DMP at 4:00pm and met with Additional DMP Commissione Dr. KM Muhi Uddin as the DMP Commissioner were absent there.
Meanwhile, BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in a virtual press briefing alleged that the ruling party leaders become owners of huge properties in the past several years using the state power.
He said the ruling party MP aspirants’ statement which submitted to the Election Commission showed that every one of them become owners of hundreds of crores Taka in the past years with the grace of state power.
“Awami League always makes the country as bottomless basket by untold plundering,” Rizvi said in the press briefing.
Apart from these, in a separate statement, Rizvi described the cutting of rail tracks in Gazipur as an act of sabotage.
He demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident to find out the perpetrators.
In the statement, Rizvi also expressed the apprehension that the incident was committed in in a planned way to shift the blame onto the opposition.
“The derailment of seven coaches of a train near Bhawal Railway Station is undoubtedly an act of sabotage.
I condemn this incident,” Rizvi said.
The BNP leader also said that those who had committed such an inhumane incident are enemies of humanity.
“We demand an impartial judicial investigation into the incident.
On behalf of BNP, I demand the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the miscreants involved in the derailment of the train,” he said.
