Condolences pour in

Different political parties including Bangladesh Nationalists Party (BNP), Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and Jatiya Janata Party have conveyed condolence messages to the bereaved family members of Barrister Mainul Hosein.

BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in a condolence message signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Saturday said, “Barrister Mainul Hosein was an undaunted voice in the current democratic crisis.

He never stepped back to articulate the truth.”

“The country has lost a true patriot. It is undoubtedly heart-rending for the irreparable loss of such a noted jurist,” he added.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in a message said, “Barrister Mainul was an honest, liberal and democratic minded individual. He never compromised for democracy.

He played a pivotal role for the rule of law, justice and human rights. The nation will remember his contribution with high esteem.”

In another message, Jatiya Janata Party said, “It is an irreparable loss for the nation.

He was a democratic minded individual. He will remain immortal in the history of Bangladesh for his contribution.”

Former law adviser Hasan Arif, Ruhul Amin Hawlader, Zia Uddin Ahmed Bablu and Kazi Firoj Rashid yesterday visited Baridhara residence after hearing the death of Barrister Mainul Hosein and expressed their deep condolences to the briefed family members.
