Rizvi, Aman among 45 BNP leaders indicted in sabotage case

A court in Dhaka on Monday framed charges against 45 leaders and activists of BNP, including its Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Dhaka North City unit BNP Convener Amanullah Aman, in a sabotage case filed with Mohammadpur Police Station in the capital.
As Ruhul Kabir Rizvi is on the run, the court issued an arrest warrant against him.
Dhaka’s Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain passed the order, fixing January 4 to start recording the depositions of the witnesses.
The other prominent accused in the case include Barkat Ullah Bulu, Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu, Saiful Alam Nirob and Ishaq Sarker.
According to the case documents, BNP men allegedly hurled a petrol bomb on a passenger bus, setting it on fire in Mohammadpur Beribadh area on January 17 of 2015.
Six to seven passengers were injured in the incident.
Police, later, filed the case in connection with the incident.
Investigation Officer Kamal Krishna Saha on August 23, 2016, submitted the charge-sheet of the case against the 45 accused.
