15pc cash dividend approved for 2025
Shareholders of Meghna Life Insurance PLC have unanimously approved a 15 per cent cash dividend for 2025 at the company’s 30th Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The AGM was held virtually at 11am on Thursday according to a press release.
Meghna Life Insurance Chairman Nizam Uddin Ahmed chaired the meeting.
Vice Chairman Nasir Uddin Ahmed (Pavel); Directors Riaz Uddin Ahmed, Jannatul Ferdous, Md Zahid Anwar Khan, Md Main Uddin, Dilruba Sharmin and Sabita Ferdous; other directors; Acting Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Tarek, FCA; and senior company officials attended the meeting.
Additional Managing Director and Company Secretary Enamul Haque Khan, ACS, conducted the AGM.
Meghna Life earned Tk282.66 crore in total premium income in 2025, while its total assets stood at Tk1,765.66 crore.
The insurer paid Tk286.78 crore in claims during the year and reported earnings per share of Tk1.72.
Addressing the meeting, Nizam Uddin Ahmed said the company would continue pursuing technology-driven and policyholder-friendly initiatives.
In his concluding remarks, he thanked the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission, Dhaka Stock Exchange, other regulatory authorities, directors, management, employees, insurance professionals, policyholders and shareholders for their continued support and cooperation.
He urged all concerned to work together to achieve the company’s business objectives for 2026 and ensure its continued success and sustainable growth.
