EC approves transfer of 47 UNOs

The Election Commission (EC) yesterday approved transfer of a total of 47 Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) as part of its efforts to hold upcoming national polls in a free, fair and transparent manner.

Ashok Kumar Debnath, Additional Secretary of EC, confirmed the matter on Monday.

He said the EC approved the transfer of 47 UNOs from different parts of the country and the transfer order of 20 more UNOs has already reached the commission.

“Over 250 UNOs will be transferred to hold the election in a free and fair manner,” he said.

On December 1, the EC instructed the Ministry of Public Administration to transfer all UNOs across the country in phases.
