Eleven BNP leaders, activists imprisoned for 30 months in sabotage case

A Dhaka court yesterday sentenced 11 BNP leaders and activists to two and a half years in prison in a sabotage case filed with Bhatara Police Station in the capital.

The convicts are- Md Ataur Rahman, Helal Dali, Lalal Bepari, Babul Sheikh, Mofizur Rahman, Kazi Hazrat Ali, Md Zakir Hossain Bepari, Md Zakir Hossain Bagmar, Md Ershad Ali Khan, Md Maizul Islam Darji and Md Ali Mia.

They were also fined Tk 10,000 each, and in default they will have to serve three months more in prison.

The Metropolitan Magistrate Shafi Uddin of Dhaka CMM Court delivered the verdict on Sunday.

The case was filed in September of 2018 for committing subversive acts in Bhatara area in the capital.
