It’s just a sign of an ever improving Bangladesh: Southee

New Zealand captain Tim Southee reckoned the difficulty of facing Bangladesh in their subcontinent region and lauded the ‘ever improving Bangladesh team’.
Bangladesh secured their first-ever win against New Zealand at home defeating the tourists by 150 runs on the fifth day of the match. Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam completed a 10-wicket haul that helped Bangladesh to restrict the visitors to 181 runs.
Bangladesh needed only three wickets on day five to notch up the victory. Daryll Mitchell and Southee launched a counterattack but it was not enough.
“We’ve come to know that Bangladesh are a tough side in this part of the world though. They’re very used to these conditions. It’s a tough place to come and play. And for us in New Zealand, we’ve been very good for a long period of time in our conditions. And I think every time you lose it’s not ideal, and I think it’s just a sign of an ever improving Bangladesh team,” said Southee in the post-match conference.
