FF Faruk murder case SC asks ex-Tangail Mayor Mukti to surrender in 48 hours

The High Court on Sunday recalled an order that granted bail to former Tangail Mayor Shahidur Rahman Khan Mukti in a murder case filed over the killing of Faruk Ahmed, a freedom fighter and Tangail district Awami League leader.
It also asked Shahidur Rahman Khan, who recently released from jail after securing bail from the High Court by concealing the information, to surrender to the trial court concerned within 48 hours.
The High Court bench of Justice Md Rezaul Hasan and Justice Fahmida Quader passed the order after hearing a petition filed by the state seeking cancellation of his bail, said Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik who appeared in the court hearing representing the state.
Former Tangail Mayor Shahidur Rahman Khan Mukti, an accused in the murder case filed over the killing of Faruk Ahmed, a freedom fighter and Tangail district Awami League leader, has been in jail for a few years.
