Paving work of Mirzapur Shubhulya-Barati not completed in 4 years

In Tangail’s Mirzapur, under the local government engineering department, the work of paving about two kilometers of road up to Shubhulya-Barati Hat has not been completed even in four years. The work of this public road has started, but after some work, the contractor left the work on various pretexts and ran away. A creditor filed a case against the contractor after receiving Tk 40 lakh. Paving of the road is now uncertain. As a result, it has been alleged that lakhs of people are facing extreme difficulties in communication. Today Sunday (November 26) the Shubhulya-Barati road was seen to be in a very bad condition.
It is known that the regional road of public movement from Shubhulya on the Dhaka-Tangail highway is the Shubhulya-Barati road. The length of the road is about four kilometers. Shubhulya-Barati road borders Fatepur, Jamurki, Bhatgram and Banail unions of Mirzapur upazila. Nearby are the traditional Barati Nardana Bangladesh High School, Barati Hat Government Primary School, Barati Hat and Bazar, Shubhulya Government Primary School, Barati, Shubhulya, Chaikdana, Ichail, Ruhitpur, Bangla, Teghuri, Ufulki, Agdhlya and Nardana villages. Apart from students, people from different areas have been traveling through this road. Even after 53 years of independence, two kilometers of Shubhulya-Barati road has not been paved, so there is no end to the suffering of nearly two lakh people. In response to the demands of the local residents, the late MP Ekabbar Hossain, the late freedom fighter, paid about one million rupees for the paving of the road in the financial year 2019-2020. The road is named after the former director of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University College Dr. Bir Muktijodha AKM Shariful Islam Road. A contractor called M/s Tarafdar Builders has been tendered to pave the road under the Directorate of Local Government Engineering.
After doing some work on the road, Shafiqul Islam and his accomplices left the work on various pretexts and fled after grabbing Tk 40 lakh from a person named Shahidul Islam of Shubhulya village. Even in the last four years, there is no end to the suffering of the people of the area in terms of communication as the road has not been paved.
