3 smugglers held with huge smuggled goods in Bhairab

The members of RAB have arrested 3 alleged smugglers with huge smuggled goods from Bhairab port town on Thursday night. A bus was also impounded at this time.
The arrested are Sujan (33) son of Khorshed Alam of Kaiya area in Sonaimuri of Noakhali, Jahangir Alam (43) son of Rifat Miah at Hazrahat in Shalik upazila of Magura and Masum Hossain (4o) son of Barek Sheikh in Shingpado under Srinagar upazila of Munshiganj.According to RAB-14 in Bhairab Camp, on secret information, three smugglers. raiding the Dhaka-Sylhet highway. At that time, a bus in their possession was searched and 230 kg of Indian chips, 599 kg of cashew nuts, 2160 kg of betel nuts, 192 kg of cown rice, 135 kg of lemons, 14 kg of fruits, 140 kg of sugar and three mobile phones were seized. The bus was also impounded.In this regard, RAB – 14 Bhairab Company Commonder Additional SP Muhammad Zahid Hasan said that, the detainees are members of a smuggling ring. They have been selling various types of Indian products to different parts of the country through smuggling from the border area of Sylhet for a long time. They constantly resorted to innovative tactics to avoid the prying eyes of the law enforcement agencies.
