Main accused Nipu still at large

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activist Arif Ahmad was brutally murdered by rival groups in Baluchar under Sylhet city. Ankhi Begum, the mother of the deceased, filed a case at SMP’s airport police station as the plaintiff. In the case, the names of 10 people including Ward Councilor No. 36 and former Acting President of Sylhet District Chhatra League Hiran Mahmud Nipu were mentioned.
Meanwhile, the former acting president of the District Chhatra League, Councilor Hiran Mahmud Nipu, was in the area after the murder of Chhatra League activist Arif. But after filing the case, Neepu left the area on the news of the police raid. Currently, his mobile phone is also switched off. Not only Nipu but also his fellow gunmen fled the area.
The police say that the operation to arrest Nipu is continuing.
