Fakirhat a hot-spot of drug traders

Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district became a hot-spot of drug traders and a good number of drug traders were arrested along with different kinds of drugs by the different law enforcing agencies during the last few months. Some three (93) drug traders were arrested along with 25.7 kgs Ganja from Gurguria Dungar gate area within Mulghar Union under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district. Md. Rabiul Islam Shamim, Assistant Police Super of Fakirhat (Circle) disclosed in a press briefing held on Wednesday morning (at about 11 am), acting on secret information a police squad of Fakihat Model PS led by SI Anup Kumar Roy, ASI Abdullah Al-Mamun and ASI Ashraf Ali conducted a raid the area on Tuesday afternoon (at 1 pm) and arrested 3 drug traders.
At that time the police recovered 2 bags contained with 25.7 kgs ganja from a private car. Later, the police seized the recovered ganja and the private car used by the drug traders. The arrested drug traders are Abul Bashar (35), driver of the car and son of one Charu Mia hails from Rayek Elaka (area) under Kasba Upazila in Brahmanbaria district, Billal Hossain (28), son of one Siraj Mia hails from Barikhali area under the same Upazila and Rahin Molla (20), son of one late Shajahan Molla of Rayek Eleka unde the same Upazila. Police disclosed, they carried the ganja from Brahmanbaria to Fakirhat Upazil and they were waiting at Gurguria area in order to sell the same to their local selected customers.
Md. Ashraful Alam, Officer-ln-charge of Fakirhat Model PS told, a case was lodged with the PS against the arrested drug traders under Anti Narcotic Act and they were already sent the court at Bagerhat district Headquarters on Wednesday noon.
Another report states that a drug trader named Siraj Shikari (24) was arrested along with 150 Yaba pills from Kataakhali area under Fakirhat Upazila by the police of Fakirhat PS on Sunday (Nov.19) evening. According to the police source, acting on secret information a police squad of Fakirhat Model PS led by SI Anup Roy and ASI Abdulla Al-Mamun conducted a raid at Katakhali in the evening (at 7 pm) of the last Sunday and arrested drug trader Siraj Shikari, searched him and recovered 150 Yaba pills (tablets) fom his possession. The arrested drug trader Siraj Shikari is the son of one Nur Islam Shikari of village Chakuli under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district. It was confirmed by Md. Ashraful Alam, Office-in-charge of Fakirhat PS and told, in this connection a case was registered with the concerned PS under Anti Narcotic Act against him. In the following (Monday) morning the drug trader was sent the court.
