Urban agro has eco-financially potentials

Urban agro can be a source of extra earnings for dweller families while it also has a vast potential of creating green city, experts said in a city workshop on Tuesday.

Experts in a workshop in the capital said the rooftop gardening is no more a matter of hobby but it has enormous prospect of earning money.

“Cultivating different types of vegetables and fruits in the rooftop can be a reliable source of extra income of urban people besides providing important nutrition and the foods to the families,” experts said.

Experts made the remarks in the workshop titled ‘Strengthening urban agriculture achievements in four city corporations in Dhaka National learning sharing workshop,’ held at AKM Gias Uddin Milky Auditorium, Farmegate, Dhaka.

The speakers shared their experiences about all four city corporations’ (Dhaka North, Dhaka South, Gazipur, and Narayanganj) areas achievements in urban agriculture.
