Housewife gang-raped in Kulaura

A young man named Shakib Mia (22) has been arrested by the police for his alleged involvement in the gang rape of a housewife (19) in Kulaura, Moulvibazar.
On Sunday afternoon, he was arrested in a raid in Laskarpur area of Kulaura town. Shakib’s house is in Layarhai area of Jaychandi Union of the Upazila.
According to the statement of the case and police sources, the in-laws of the housewife are in Muradnagar police station of Cumilla district.
Recently he came to visit his father’s house in Kulaura upazila. Shakib is a classmate of Housewife. On that occasion, she met her husband.
On November 3, the housewife’s husband came to Kulaura to take her home. The next day on November 4, some local people had a quarrel with her husband over a trivial matter.
That day and night to resolve the matter the arbitrator sits at the home of the housewife. Apart from UP member Alim Uddin, local people including Sundar Ali, resident of Purba Mansur village of Kadipur union of the upazila, Randhir Ghosh, resident of Raigram of Jayachandi union and Shakib Mia, a classmate of the housewife, were present in the arbitration.
At the final stage of the arbitration, Shakib called the housewife to a separate room and separated her from her husband. Asked to do at one point around 1 am, the accused Shakib (22) told the housewife, “Your husband is not good; you should leave your husband and marry a beautiful one, and put pressure on her to give her everything including money.”
After that, Sundar Ali (32) and Randhir Ghosh (40) entered the room and forcibly took the housewife to the bathroom, tied her hands with veil and clothes and raped her in turn.
Meanwhile, they recorded the offensive scene on their mobile phones.
Move on while leaving, they intimidated him not to tell anyone about it. Later he told the incident to his relatives. Meanwhile, the next day on November 5, Sundar went to the house of Ali and showed them the video of the rape incident and demanded one lakh taka from them. At one point, the housewife’s mother gave two pages of bank checks with Tk 40,000 in cash.
