BGB, RAB deployed to maintain law and order

A total of 229 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and 460 patrol teams of the elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have been deployed across the country to maintain law and order amid the ongoing blockade called by BNP, Jamaat and like-minded opposition parties.

Shariful Islam, Public Relations Officer (PRO) at BGB headquarters, confirmed the matter to the media on Thursday saying that a total of 229 platoons of BGB have been deployed across the country to maintain law and order.

Meanwhile, 460 patrol teams of RAB have been deployed across the country to maintain law and order, RAB Legal and Media Wing Senior Assistant Director ANM Emran Khan said on Thursday.

BGB and RAB personnel have been deployed across the country to maintain law and order, a day after the Election Commission announced the election schedule for the 12th general election.
