BNP calls for hartal on November 19 and 20

The BNP and like-minded parties have called for countrywide hartal on November 19 and 20, rejecting the schedule for the 12th JS elections.

The hartal was announced by BNP on Wednesday (November 15) evening.

Earlier, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal has announced the schedule for the 12th parliamentary election.

As per the schedule, the 12th parliamentary election will be held on January 7, 2024.

Besides, Ganatantra Mancha, Left Democratic Alliance (LDA) and Bangladesh Labour Party have also called for hartal in protest against the Election Commission’s announcing the schedule for the upcoming 12th national elections.

Junaid Saki, one of the leaders of the political alliance called for a day-long hartal on Thursday (16 November).
