Bangladesh Football team will take on Australia Football team in the FIFA World Cup (WC) qualifiers at Melbourne in Australia today. This is away match for Bangladesh. The match will kick-off at 8.00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Bangladesh, Australia, Palestine, Lebanon are in Group-1 of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
According to the latest FIFA ranking, Australia have achieved 27th position, while Bangladesh have taken 183rd spot.
Earlier, Bangladesh played against Australia in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in 2015. Bangladesh suffered a 5-0 defeat to Australia in their away match, while Bangladesh tasted a 4-0 loss to Australia in their home match.
Captain of Bangladesh Football team Jamal Bhuyan said, “Their opponents Australia team are stronger than that team, which took part in the FIFA World Cup 2022.”
Australia Football team moved into the second round of the FIFA World Cup 2022. Australia’s World Cup campaign came to an end after they were beaten to Argentina by 1-2 goals.
Jamal said, ” In the 2015 World Cup qualifiers, Australia had Tim Kahil and other high profile footballers.
Though our Opponents have not such kind of high profile booters and they don’t play in the big clubs of famous European Leagues, But they used to play in the Scottish League and the Championship League.”
Bhuyan said, ” I think it will be a big match for us. Our Head Coach said, “We want to give fight against Australia. We want to show our capability.”
Jamal said, ” The match will be a mission of experience. We know the mission is a tough task. We want to present our best.”
He said, ” The expatriates of our country of the world always give us support, where we play. Bangladesh supporters give us entertain. We know they will support us here and will give us inspiration. We are also good.
We have to show them that We are also good side. There are a good number of footballers in our side.”
He also said, ” I want to say to our supporters that please give us in your prayers. You should with us. I know we are going to face a tough task. But I am hopeful that we can earn a good result.”
