Two BNP leaders held in capital with ‘bottles of petrol’

Police arrested two BNP leaders with two bottles filled with petrol from Moghbazar area in the city on Thursday.

The arrestees have been identified as Ebadul Bepari, 37, joint convener of Swechasebak Dal of Hatirjheel thana unit and Sabuj Mia, 27, a member of the unit.

A gas lighter and old clothes were also recovered from their possession while they attempted to set a car on fire in the area around 2:30pm.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADC) Hafiz Al Farooq of Tejgaon Industrial Zone, confirmed this incident to the media on Thursday.
