Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup (CWC) campaign came to an end due to injury. Shakib got injury in his finger when he did fielding against Sri Lanka in their eighth match at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, the capital city of India on Monday last.
After getting injury, Shakib Al Hasan played the finishing of that match after taking painkiller pill and his finger was bandaged by surgical tape.
Shakib scored 82 runs and bagged two wickets. He was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
As Bangladesh won over Sri Lanka, Bangladesh’s hopes alive to play in the upcoming Champions Trophy.
Physiotherapist of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Bayjedul Islam Khan said, ” Shakib Al Hasan got injury in his finger of his left hand when he was bowling against Sri Lanka. Later, he was bandaged his finger by tape and took painkiller pill and then, he batted against Sri Lanka.”
Khan said, “After the match, his finger was underwent by X-Ray. After getting his X-Ray report, we found that his finger of his left hand is cracked. Shakib will take at least three to four weeks to be totally fit. Shakib will join his rehabilitation process from today.”
Shakib Al Hasan could not play against Australia in their last match of the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup on November 11.
It may be mentioned that Shakib got a notable score in his match against Sri Lanka. But it is a sad news that Shakib got injury in that match and his participation in ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup was concluded.
Earlier, Shakib Al Hasan got injury when he was taking part in the practice session from the beginning of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. He could not participate in the warm-up match due to injury.
He played the early three matches of this World Cup. He got injury when he was playing against New Zealand. Then, he could not take part against India.
