3300 opposition activists sued, 230 arrested in Kishoreganj

A total of 15 cases have been filed against nearly 3300 BNP and Jamaat leaders, activists and arrested at least 230 including kishoreganj District President Shariful Alam in 10 days between 28 October and Saturday throughout in Kishoreganj district.

Advocate Jalaluddin Ahamed, Vice president of Kishoreganj district BNP alleged that police are arresting BNP leaders and activists indiscriminately and sending them to the court as unnamed accused in different case field in police stations.

District BNP president Sariful Alam and orhers are in police custody on remand Court granted three to four days of remand for them.

Police Super (SP) of Kishoreganj, Md.Rashel Sheikh PPM (Bar) told The New Nation that, at least 150 men were accused in several cases on charges of being involved in conspiracy against the government, under the special power Act and the Explosive substances Act.

Bhairab’s police arrested at least five BNP leaders in Bhairab of Kishoreganj from Sylhet. On secret information, a police team of Bhairab police station arrested them from a house in Sylhet’s Zindabazar.
