Sylhet Presbyterian gives farewell reception to SCC Mayor

Sylhet Presbyterian Church gave a farewell reception to Ariful Haque Chowdhury, the successful mayor of Sylhet City Coporation for two consecutive terms.
The farewell reception organized at the Nayasrakstha Christian Mission on Thursday night.
Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury said that the spiritual city of Sylhet has thousands of years of religious tradition. Sylhet’s multi-ethnic culture is bright in history due to people of different castes, religions and castes living together.
Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury said that Sylhet City Corporation is working to develop the multicultural culture of Sylhet. I have tried to work for the development of various religious institutions to maintain the traditions of the city. In continuation of that, I have taken a plan to develop Presbyterian Church in Sylhet city
Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury said, Sylhet Christian history, tradition and religious architectural styles have been finalized in the design of the church. Sylhet City Corporation will soon start the construction work of the new designed church.
He said that even if he is not in charge of the mayor, he will stand by the Christian community of Sylhet in any crisis. SCC Mayor said that he is always involved in the development of the city.
Church Father Deacon Nijhum Sangma, representatives of Sylhet’s Christian community, councilors of SCC were present in the ceremony.
