Jail Killing Day observed in Kishoreganj

Jail Killing Day was observed in the district in a befitting manner on Friday. On November 3 in 1975, four national leaders and heroes of the country’s Liberation War — Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmad, Captain Mansur Ali and AHM Quamruzzaman — were assassinated inside the Dhaka Central Jail.
Marking the day, Bangladesh Awami League of Kishoreganj district unit, took various programmes including hoisting flags, placing a floral wreath and discussion meeting in the district.
Awami League hoisted national, party and black flags at half-mast at the party office in the town and it was followed by paying homage by placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders.
A discussion meeting was held at party office on Friday afternoon. District Awami League (AL) president and Zila Parishad chairman Advocate Zillur Rahman presided over the discussion. It was addressed among others by, District General Secretary advocate M. A Afzol, vice president AND GP advocate Bijoy Shankor Roy, Former Mayor Nurul Islam, Syed Ashfaqul Islam Tito, Aminul Islam Bakul , and Mohila Awami League district secretary Bilkis Begum
