MPSC imposes fine on students for being absent during blockade

Staff Reporter :
The authorities of the Mohammadpur Preparatory School and College (MPSC) have issued a notification imposing fine on the students for their absence in classes during the ongoing countrywide blockade program called by the opposition political parties.

The notification issued on Thursday said students will have to appear in the classes through virtual process since November 2. However, each student has to pay fine of Tk 100 if they become absent for one day.

According to the notification, if any student becomes absent for two consecutive days, then the students have to come to the school with his or her guardians to inform the class teacher, and in that case he will be exempted from paying the fine.

“If a student become absent for three consecutive days, he will not have to pay the penalty if he submit an application along with the medical certificate.

However, if the application and relevant documents are not submitted, the fine will not be waived.

Penalty will be waived if separate applications are submitted for absence per day, however, it will be applicable only for three separate days in a month.

No student shall be absent for more than three days without medical ground”, also read the notification.

However, many guardians of the school inform that many students don’t have any electronic device to attend the virtual classes.

Therefore, such kind of notification is a burden for the students as well as for the guardians.
