Buses set ablaze in Shyamoli, Bhatara, Mughda

Three more buses were set on fire in the capital’s Mughda, Shyamoli and Bhatara area on Wednesday, the second day of the three-day nationwide blockade declared by BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami. No casualties were reported so far, police said.
In Mughda, miscreants set a bus on fire in the capital’s Mughda around 10:55am on Wednesday A firefighting unit brought the fire under control around 11:10am.
Rafi Al Faruq, Duty Officer of the fire service, confirmed the matter to the media.
He said a bus of Midlife Paribahan was set on fire in front of the Mughda Medical College. No casualties were reported in the incident.
However, a man was detained from the spot over the incident, said police.
In Shyamoli, unidentified persons posing as passengers boarded a Gabtoli bound bus of Welcome Paribahan and set it on fire around 6:00pm, Mohammad Imrul, Assistant Commissioner (Traffic) of Mohammadpur Zone told the media.
Police along with locals doused the fire immediately, he added.
Meanwhile, another bus of Baishakhi Paribahan was set on fire opposite to Jamuna Future Park around 7:07pm. Two fire engines doused the blaze, said Ershad Hossain, Duty Officer of the Fire Service control room.
On the other hand, miscreants have thrown two cocktails on Dhaka-Kolkata route Maitree Express train at Ishwardi upazila of Pabna on Wednesday.
A window glass of a bogie of the train was damaged at that time.
However, no one was injured in this connection.
