Farmers demand unhindered movement of farm products

Farmer leaders have demanded uninterrupted movement of agricultural products during the strike-blockade. On Tuesday (October 31) in a crowded press conference at Ishwardi Press Club, the Central Committee of Bangladesh Farmers’ Development Society demanded the withdrawal of strike-blockade and smooth marketing of agricultural products.

In a written statement, President of Farmers Development Society and National Agriculture Medalist Siddiqur Rahman Moyez alias Kul Moyez said that there is a conspiracy to destroy agricultural products and farmers by striking and blocking in agriculture-dependent Bangladesh. In 2014, the agricultural sector was hit the hardest by the continuous strike-blockade.

Later, during the corona period, the agricultural sector of the country was hit.

Farmers are working hard to get the agriculture sector out of the crisis due to various measures taken by the present government.

He said that farmers are not given any loan from the bank, he said, today the farmer community is struggling to pay the loan installments with interest of the NGO.

At that time, the opposition political alliance took a strict program like hartal and blockade.

The country’s farming community is suffering fatally.

Stating that 10 crores of rupees are traded daily in Ishwardi alone, he said that the political leaders came to power by holding farmers and agricultural products hostage by struggling and struggling, they benefited.

And farmers suffer. If agricultural products are not allowed to move freely during the strike, there will be a food crisis in the country. Crores of farmers will suffer financially which will affect the country’s economy.

Hundreds of farmers including National Medalist Zahidur Rahman Zahid, National Medalist Habibur Rahman Habib, Medalist Beli Begum, Rezaul Karim Reza, Shahinuzzaman, Khorshed Alam were present under the direction of General Secretary of Farmers Development Society Abul Hashem.
