World Polio Day observed in Sylhet

Rotary International District-3282, Sylhet region celebrates World Polio Day on Saturday on the occasion of World Polio Day with a rally and seminar at Zilla Parished Hallroom in Sylhet on Monday.
Rotary District-3282 Bangladesh Governor Engineer Matiur Rahman attend the Rally and Seminar as chief guest.
He said, since 1985, Rotarians have been working tirelessly with their money and labor to rid the world of polio.
This effort of Rotarians has also been successful in the world.
Almost the entire world is now polio-free.
Only in Pakistan and Afghanistan are two cases of polio occasionally detected. Hopefully the world will be polio free very soon.
He also said that worldwide Rotary Clubs are playing an important role in polio eradication.
Rotary’s contribution to healthcare for the poor and making the world polio-free is the greatest.
Rotarians are also carrying out various programs including eradicating illiteracy, ensuring basic health care, improving the environment.
Assistant Governor PP Shahjahan Salim Bulbul PHF gave welcome speech. Event Chairman Kabirul Islam presided over and Area Director PP Shamsul Haque Dipu conducted the seminar.
