Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited drew 2-2 with Bangladesh Army Football team in their first Group-C match of the Independence Cup Football at Bashundhara Kings Arena in Dhaka on Saturday.
It may be mentioned that Golam Rabbani Choton, the successful former coach of Bangladesh Women’s Football team is now the Head Coach of Bangladesh Army Football team.
Golam Rabbani Choton showed success in his first assignment in this year’s domestic football competition.
Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited have included four foreign recruits in their squad.
Bangladesh Army led the first half 2-1.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Army Football team played without any foreign booters.
Imtiaz of Bangladesh Army put his team ahead in the ninth minute of the match.
Arif of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited equalised the margin in the 20th minute of the play.
After four minutes, Ranju of Bangladesh Army gave his team a 2-1 lead.
After the lemon-break, Jafar Iqbal of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited levelled the margin in the 67th minute of the game.
The other team of the Group-C is Fortis Football Club Limited.
So, Bangladesh Army have done a good job.
They earned a valuable one point.
Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club also snatched one point from Bangladesh Army Football team.
Top two teams from Group-C will play in the quarter-final.
