Death toll rises to 18 in Bhairab train crash

A case has been field by the family of a person killed in a train accident in Bhairab Station of Kishoreganj on Wednesday with Bhairab Bazar.
Billal Hossain, the younger brother of Nazmul Islam, who died in the accident filed a case with the Rail police.
In the case, the driver of the freight train Jahangir Alam, assistant driver Atiqur Rahman and Guard Md. Alamgir has been made an accused.
Besides, the persons involved in the operation of the train have been kept in the list of accused.
Nazrul died on the way to Dhaka with serious injuries.
He is the son of Darshan Mia of Sarrabad village in Belabo upazila of Narsingdi.
Nazrul lived in Amlapara of Bhairab town with his family members.
It has been stated in the statement of the case that this terrible accident happened due to the negligence and carelessness of the people involved in the operation of the train.
If they performed their duties properly, the accident would not have happened.
So many people would not have been harmed.
Billal Hossain, the plaintiff in the case, said, ‘I have lost my brother.
Many have lost their sole income earners.
None of us will get them back for anything.
The accident happened due to some people’s quirks.
People accused in any accident are not punished.
Negligence is increasing because there is no punishment.
I filed the case to bring punishment.’
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) in Bhairab GRP Alim Hossain Shikder confirmed this matter.
He also said the investigation of the case has started.

DC in Kishoreganj, Md. Abul Kalam Azad told The New Nation that tk. 25,000 would be given to each family of the deceased and treatment cost to the injured.
No one yet to look for injured child Rabiul
No one has come to look for the child Rabiul (7) yet, who was injured in the terrible train accident in Bhairab station of Kishoreganj.
He is under treatment at Bhairab Government Hospital for three days.
As there are no relatives, he is being looked after by members of Bhairab Bandhu Sabha and relatives of other patients.
According to Police and Hospital sources, on Monday afternoon, rescue workers brought the injured child to the health complex from the train compartment due to an accident in the Bhairab station area.
He was not identified when he was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Bhairab, Md. Sadikur Rahman Sabuj posted on his Facebook account to trace his relatives. But so far no one has come in search of the child.
In this regard, Civil Surgeon (CS) of Kishoreganj, Dr. Saiful Islam told the New Nation that, the child was unconscious when he was admitted to the hospital on Monday afternoon.
When he regained consciousness, he was able to say his name (Rabiul) but he was saying different addresses each time. Once he says his home is Raipura in Narsingdi. A little later he says in Dhaka’s Gulistan.
Upazila Health and Family Planing Officer (UHFOO) in Bhairab, Dr. Bulbul Ahmed said that no sign of injury was found on his body. He may have been in such a condition by pressing on something. Now he is safe.
Bhairab Bandhu Sabha President Nahid Hossain said that no trace of the relatives of the child injured in the train accident was found.
We are taking regular care of him in the hospital.
From the day after the incident, one or the other member of the friendship group has been staying by the child’s side.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) in Bhairab, Mohammad Sadikur Rahman said that the search for the relatives of the children injured in the train accident has been published in various places including social media.
But still no trace of the child’s relatives was found.
The child is under treatment in the hospital.
