ICC Men's Cricket World Cup: Resounding win for Aussies against Netherlands

Australia posted to a resounding 309-run victory over Netherlands in their fifth match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, the capital city of India on Wednesday.
Winning in the coin-session, Aussies decided to bat first and piled up a mammoth total of 399 for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 50 overs and then shot out Netherlands for a paltry 90 off 21 overs.
Glenn Maxwell hammered a hurricane 106 from 44 balls with eight sixes and nine fours.
It is the fastest century in ICC ODI World Cup history. Maxwell was adjudged the Man of the Match for his terrific batting display.
Opener David Warner and one-down Steven Smith put on together a worthy 132 runs for the second wicket partnership before Smith was caught at the backward point by Roelef van der Marwe off Aryan Dutt when Australia’s score was 160 for the loss of two wickets. Smith hit a superb 71.
His 68-ball innings had nine fours and a sixer.
Warner and Marnus Labuschangne built another notable partnership contributing together 84 runs in the third wicket stand before Marnus was caught at the mid-on by Aryan Dutt off Bas de Leede when Australia’s total was 244 for the loss of three wickets.
Warner cracked a polished 104. His 93-ball knock was laced with 11 fours and three sixers.
Glenn Maxwell and Pat Cummins added together 103 runs for the seventh wicket partnership before Maxwell was dismissed by Logan van Beek when Australia’s score was 393 for the loss of seven wickets.
Logan van Beek restored some parity for his country with four wickets instead of 74 runs.
Later, no Dutch batters could shine with the willow. They lost their wickets in regular intervals.
Adam Zampa captured four wickets in the space of eight runs, while Mitchell Marsh bagged two wickets at the cost of 19 runs.
Pat Cummins, Josh Hazzlewood and Mitchell Starc took one wicket apiece.
