30 bhories gold snatched in Manikganj

A gang of snatchers on Friday robbed of 30 bhories of gold and Tk one lakh from a gold trader at Daulatpur market of Manikganj district.

Police and locals said the trader is identified as Dilip Rajbanshiya of Daulatpur upazila.

During the heist, the snatchers exploded cocktails and fired gunshots.

One villager named Jakir Hossain (35) was injured in the attack. He was admitted to local upazila health complex.

At that time, the villagers chased the gang, caught one of the cohorts and handed him over to the police.

Daulatpur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shafiqul Islam Mollah confirmed the matter to the media on Saturday.

OC said, “Villagers caught a snatcher and handed him over to the police.

Police are working to arrest other snatchers of the gang”.
