World Mental Health Day observed in Manikganj

Keeping mental health protection and well-being for all is a global priority.

Private development organization Barsik and Andharmani Women’s Development Association jointly organized a program to observe the day this afternoon at Jayanagar Dr. Joseph Memorial Hospital auditorium to deal with the mental health risks of women and adolescents at the community level.

In the meeting under the chairmanship of organization president Rima Akhtar and general secretary Pinki Akhtar, the idea of the program was read out by Ritu Ravi Das, the annual project worker.

Bimal Chandra Roy, Regional Coordinator of Barsik, gave the welcome address. Dr. Bhajan Krishna Banik participated in the topic discussion.

Ayesha Rahman Cultural Academy and Library Officer Babu Subhash Chakraborty, Annual Project Officer Md. Nazrul Islam and others spoke.

The speaker said that ten percent of the country’s people are mentally ill.

Psychiatric patients around me will be well received and placed in special care with evaluation.
