One held with 1kg ice drug in capital

Police arrested a person with drug ice from Uttara in the capital on Monday night.

The arrested has been identified as Iftekhar Uddin Shakib.

During the arrest, 1 kg of ice and two mobile phones used for selling drugs were recovered from him.

He was arrested in front of Paulwell Carnation Center on the eastern side of Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Abdullahpur.

DMP Uttara Division Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohammad Morshed Alam gave details about this at a press briefing at DMP Media Center on Tuesday noon.

He said, a patrol police team of Uttara-Purba police station, while conducting regular search operations, came to know through confidential information that a consignment of drugs would enter Uttara from districts around Dhaka.

Based on that information, Uttara-Purba Thana police set up a check post in front of Paulwell Carnation Center on the eastern side of the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Abdullahpur.

A man tried to run away after realizing the presence of the police at around eleven o’clock at night.

At that time, the police arrested him.

After the arrest, the police searched a plastic bag with him and recovered 1 kg of ice from it.
