Retired ACC official dies in police custody

A former official of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) died in police custody at Chandgaon Police Station of Chattogramon Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Sayed Mohammad Shahidullah, 67, a former deputy director of the ACC.
Pankaj Dutta, additional deputy commissioner (ADC-North) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP), confirmed the death of the former ACC official, saying that he was arrested in a case last night from his residence.
According to victim son Nafiz Shahid ,two assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) in plainclothes from the Changaon Police Station picked up his father from their house at around 11:30 pm on Tuesday.
Nafiz said that his father had heart problems.
He fell sick after the arrest. The police took his father to the hospital. Doctors at the hospital declared his father dead later.’
Chandgaon Police StationOfficer-in-Charge (OC) Khairul Islam claimed that deceased Shahidullah was arrested following an arrest warrant issued by a court.
He was taken to a hospital just after his arrest when he felt sick.
