Brahmanbaria District Council Chairman and district Awami League (AL) General Secretary, valiant freedom fighter Al Mamun Sarker passed away in Brahmanbaria on Monday morning at the age of 67.

Mamun Sarker breathed his last while sleeping at 8am at his father-in-law’s residence in Brahmanbaria district due to complications of multiple prolonged diseases, Brahmanbaria district AL joint general secretary Mahbubul Bari Chowdhury Montu said.

He left behind wife, son, a host of relatives, well-wishers and political colleagues to mourn his death.

His namaj-e-janaza was held after Asr prayer at the district Eidgah Maiden premises and he was buried at Sherpur graveyard in the city on Monday.

Mamun Sarker, also Chairman of Red Crescent Society of Brahmanbaria unit, as well, was involved in Chhatra League politics since his student life.
