Throat-slit bodies of parents, son found in Savar

Police recovered the throat slit bodies of three people, including parents and their teenage son, from a rented flat in a multi-storied building in Ashulia, Savar on Saturday night.
The deceased are Muktar Hossain alias Babul, 50, resident of Lohagara village of Pirganj police station in Thankurgaon, his wife Shahida Begum of Rajshahi, 40, and their son Mehendi Hasan Joy, 12.
Both husband and wife worked in separate garment factories in Ashulia.
Residents in the building detected a foul smell from the fourth-floor flat in the evening.
Suspicious, they knocked on the door of the flat. Since the door was unlocked, they entered and discovered the bodies of the mother and son lying on the bed inside one of the rooms.
They informed the house owner and the local police station.
Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, locating the bodies of the mother and son in one room and the father’s body in another.
Primary investigations suggest that the killings occurred at least three days ago. However, the identity of the assailants and the motive behind the murders remain unknown.
Authorities are attempting to contact the victims’ relatives for further information.
